alvarotc.com is the personal website of Álvaro Torres Carrasco, a private individual. It has no commercial activity. This page explains which personal data the site handles, why, and what you can do about it.
Who is responsible
The data controller is Álvaro Torres Carrasco. For anything related to your data, write tohello@alvarotc.com.
The contact form
The contact form is the only place where the site collects personal data: the email address, subject and message you type in.
- Where it goes. The form sends the data to a service I run myself at contact.alvarotc.com, hosted by Hetzner in Germany. That service sends it to hello@alvarotc.com, which goes through Cloudflare Email Routing and reaches my mailbox, hosted by Proton Mail.
- Why. Only to read your message and reply to it.
- Legal basis. Your consent when you send the form, and my legitimate interest in answering the messages I receive.
- How long. I keep your messages in my mailbox like any other email. If you want me to delete them, ask and I will.
- Sharing. Your data is not passed on to anyone else.
- What the service stores. The contact service does not keep your message. It only records the date, whether delivery succeeded, and a hash of your IP address, used to limit how many messages the same address can send within one hour.
Analytics
Visits are counted with Umami, self-hosted on my own server. It sets no cookies, uses no personal identifiers and anonymises IP addresses, so it cannot tell who you are or follow you across other sites.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel. Like any web server, Vercel keeps technical access logs (such as the IP address and the requested page) to operate and protect the service.
The domain's email uses Cloudflare Email Routing. If you write to hello@alvarotc.com directly, the message goes through Cloudflare and reaches my Proton Mail mailbox.
Cookies
The site uses no cookies of any kind, neither its own nor third-party ones. That is why there is no cookie banner.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to access, rectify or erase your data, object to its processing, or receive it in a portable format. Write to hello@alvarotc.com and I will answer as soon as possible. If you think your data has not been handled properly, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
